Club Náutico Altea Marina - Marina Berths / Moorings
Club Náutico Altea Marina From a distance, the imposing Peñón de Ifach (332m high) looks like a small version of the Rock of Gibraltar and except in winds from the SW, when there may be swell inside, provides good shelter to Calpe yacht harbour tucked in behind it. The marina was extensively remodelled in 2005 and a diving centre, gym, sauna and jacuzzi were added along with business premises. The port was also dredged and now offers a minimum depth of 3m rather than the 80 cm previously found in some areas. 25% of the berths are reserved for visiting yachts but crowding can still be expected. However, good anchorage can be found W, outside the inner mole. The Club has a good tapas bar and there is also a shipyard giving full yacht repair services. The nearby town of Calpe has been overtaken by tourist development but at least this means there are many shops and restaurants within walking distance. There is also an interesting maritime museum in the town. MARINA FEATURES
