San Jose Marina - Marina Berths / Moorings
Welcome San Jose MarinaOriginally a fortification to defend the bays of Genoveses and San José, two anchorages frequently used by Moorish pirates to stock up on water and provisions, San José is a paradise with unspoilt beaches and coves of fine sand. A small fishing village that just some years ago had no more than a few dozen inhabitants, it now has two ports; the old fishing port and a new yacht harbour and watersports area. The port, managed by the yacht club under licence from Empresa Pública de Puertos de Andalucíia, offers 243 berths to 12 m, of which 25% are reserved for visitors. Given its situation in the Cabo de Gata Nature Reserve, the club is very committed to protecting the environment and requests visitors’ cooperation in controlling and reducing the consumption of water, fuel and energy. All port users are authorised to draw attention to any behaviour harming the environment, as well as to ask port staff to enforce anti-pollution regulations. Near the port there are several restaurants serving cuisine based on fish, shellfish and ‘paella’ MARINA FEATURES
